The city

What to expect from Itabirito.

Itabirito grew up with gold mining and today brings together industry, services and historical heritage in the valley of the Rio Itabirito. The Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem and the Complexo Turístico da Estação tell different stages of that history. The pastel de angu marks the local cuisine, while São Gonçalo do Bação preserves a church and streets of early settlement. On the Circuito do Ouro, the city links the Congonhas sector to the route toward Rio Acima.
