The guide
Cidade Turismo is a travel guide built city by city, now also in Argentina. For each place you'll find things to do, attractions with their own page, when to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the provinces, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Maipú is a city of the Gran Mendoza where the history of wine appears in museums and wineries. Plaza 12 de Febrero has a central fountain and tree-lined paths. The Museo Nacional del Vino y la Vendimia occupies the former chalets of Giol and Gargantini. In other parts of the department, Bodega Trapiche and Bodega La Rural – Museo del Vino welcome visitors interested in production and viticultural heritage.

Salta is the capital of the province, in the Lerma Valley. Plaza 9 de Julio brings together the cathedral, the Cabildo and the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña. The Museo Güemes and the Basílica de San Francisco broaden the historical circuit. Cerro San Bernardo offers a view of the city, and the Quebrada de San Lorenzo brings the walk close to the yungas vegetation.

El Calafate is on the southern shore of Lago Argentino and serves as the air arrival point for the southern sector of Los Glaciares. The walkways to Perito Moreno require a road trip, while the Laguna Nimez Reserve is close to the urban area. The Glaciarium presents glacier formation; Lago Roca adds a landscape of forest and steppe.

Maimará is in the Río Grande valley, between Purmamarca and Tilcara. In front of the village, the hills of the Paleta del Pintor have layers of different colors. The lookout by RN9 shows the mountains, the cultivated areas and the center near the square, on a roadside stop through the Quebrada.

Tunuyán is an urban base in the Valle de Uco, south of Mendoza. The Plaza Departamental General San Martín has trees, a fountain and works related to the memory of the general. Parque La Lombardía follows the riverbank. In the Los Chacayes area, the Reserva Manzano Histórico brings together mountain scenery and references to San Martín's return; the Monumento Retorno a la Patria is part of that circuit.

Bariloche occupies the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi, between urban commerce and the mountains. The Centro Cívico and the Catedral Nuestra Señora del Nahuel Huapi can be visited on foot. To the west, Cerro Campanario and Parque Municipal Llao Llao are part of longer excursions. The airport makes the town the main arrival point for this route.
