The guide
Cidade Turismo is a travel guide built city by city, now also in Austria. For each place you'll find things to do, attractions with their own page, when to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the states, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Bad Gastein is spread over slopes around the Gasteiner Wasserfall. The waterfall runs through the centre, while the railway station provides access to the Stubnerkogel. The visit combines urban walks with a panoramic ascent, in a valley distinct from Zell am See's lake.

Baden lies south of Vienna and is part of Europe's great spa-city heritage. The Beethovenhaus and the Kurpark explain its connections to music, rest seasons and walking excursions. The center allows a day visit without turning the trip into long transfers.

Dürnstein features the blue tower of its abbey and castle ruins on the Danube slope. The small center fits into a walk, but the climb to the Burgruine requires time and effort. The town is part of the Wachau and can be visited from Krems.

Sankt Anton am Arlberg is a rail base in western Tirol. The village provides access to Galzig and Valluga, with skiing and hiking programs in different seasons. The station near the center allows arrival without driving over a mountain pass.

Melk is organized below its baroque abbey, at the western end of the Wachau. Visiting Stift Melk takes up a significant part of the day, with a walk through the lower town before or after the interiors. The railway station makes it easy to combine the visit with the Vienna and Sankt Pölten corridor.

Kaprun lies in the valley south of Zell am See, with access to the Kitzsteinhorn and the Sigmund-Thun-Klamm gorge. The village allows you to split a day at altitude from a walk near the water. Mountain services require checking the season, the circuit and the schedule.
