A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

Innsbruck lets you combine a historic city and high altitude from the same base. The center along the Inn preserves buildings linked to the Habsburgs, while the Nordkette defines the northern skyline. The railway station makes arriving without a car easy.

The scale of the center favors walking between the Goldenes Dachl, the Hofkirche and the Hofburg. Ambras and Bergisel lie in other parts of the city and deserve planned transfers. Combining both in one day leaves a day available for the mountain.

The valley climate does not describe conditions at the high stations. Rain or fog can make visiting indoor sites before ascending more attractive.
