The guide
Cidade Turismo is a travel guide built city by city, now also in Finland. For each place you'll find things to do, attractions with their own page, when to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the regions, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Kuusamo is the arrival base for Rukatunturi and for the Oulanka and Riisitunturi parks. Kiutaköngäs displays Oulanka's rapids, while Ruka concentrates resort activities. Outings require road travel and individual planning, as the access points are not located in the urban center.

Seat of Southwest Finland, Turku brings together the castle at the mouth of the Aura, the archaeology of Aboa Vetus Ars Nova and the wooden houses of Luostarinmäki. The city is also a base for Paimio's architecture and departures to the Archipelago Sea, such as the island of Örö. On Swedish signs the name is Åbo.

Inari brings together the Siida museum and the Sajos cultural centre near the Juutuanjoki and the lake. The Pielpajärvi church requires a separate walk in the surroundings. The village core offers a base to develop the cultural theme and add scenery, without confusing the village with the entire large municipality.

Capital of Finland and of Uusimaa, Helsinki brings together the Lutheran cathedral and Uspenski, the Temppeliaukio church and the Suomenlinna fortress. Ateneum and Kiasma bring visitors closer to art; Oodi presents the library as a communal space. Seurasaari and Aalto’s buildings expand the itinerary beyond the center.

Seat of North Karelia, Joensuu is a gateway to Koli National Park and the Ukko-Koli viewpoint. In the urban area, the Eliel Museum occupies Eliel Saarinen’s old town hall. The central district along the Pielisjoki makes meals and walks easy between regional transfers.

Savonlinna is the base for Olavinlinna and for excursions to the Punkaharju reserve and the Lusto museum. The center runs along the waters of the Saimaa system and can be explored on foot. The landscape of islands and narrows continues along rail and road journeys across the region.
