The guide
Cidade Turismo is a travel guide built city by city, now also in Iceland. For each place you'll find things to do, attractions with their own page, when to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the regions, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Hvolsvöllur serves as support in the South's agricultural corridor. Seljalandsfoss is close to route 1, while Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar require dedicated days and organized transport to the interior.

Patreksfjörður serves as a base in the southern Westfjords. Látrabjarg and Rauðisandur are on different detours, with local roads that demand more time than the distances suggest.

Arnarstapi occupies a basalt coastal stretch on the south of Snæfellsnes. The village coast, Búðakirkja, Djúpalónssandur and the land sectors of Snæfellsjökull can be split into days of sightseeing and hiking.

Egilsstaðir is a service base in the interior of the East, along the Route 1 corridor. Hengifoss and Hallormsstaðaskógur are in the Lagarfljót valley; Stuðlagil requires its own detour toward Jökuldalur.

Hof is a small rural base in the southern sector of Vatnajökull. Its location allows organizing Skaftafell trails and viewing Fjallsárlón without returning to Vík or relying on a single night in Höfn.

Reykjavík brings together Hallgrímskirkja church, the Harpa concert hall, the National Museum, Perlan’s exhibits and Lake Tjörnin. The center lets you combine architecture and walks, while the Perlan hill requires its own transfer.
