Burgenland presents an Austria of plains, vineyards and reedbeds in the east of the country. Eisenstadt concentrates the heritage linked to the Esterházy family and to Haydn. Rust lies close to the western shore of the Neusiedler See and has a small historic core.

The Fertő‑Neusiedler See landscape continues into Hungary, but the itinerary can focus on the Austrian side. The national park requires choosing sectors and routes, with observation of habitats and birds depending on conditions. The lake and ponds do not look the same on every visit.

Summers tend to be warm compared with the western mountains, while December to February brings cold and short days. Cycling and boating need to be planned according to route and season.

This destination brings together 2 cities: Eisenstadt, Rust.
