A region to enjoy
at your own pace.

The Salzkammergut brings together lakes, mountains and towns linked to salt extraction. Bad Ischl serves as a rail base, Hallstatt shows settlement by the lake and Sankt Wolfgang provides access to the Schafberg. The route should be organized by valleys and connections.

The Hallstatt and Dachstein landscape is recognized as a World Heritage site. The mine, the cave and the viewpoints are distinct visits: each requires its own travel and time. It is not necessary to try to fit them all into the same day.

Even in summer, an ascent can be windy and cool. The region usually receives rain throughout the year; keep flexibility to swap a mountain day for the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl.

This destination brings together 3 cities: Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, Sankt Wolfgang.
