The guide
Toronto, Niagara Falls and Ottawa; Montreal and Quebec City, in French; Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler on the Pacific; Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper in the Rockies; the Atlantic coasts and the aurora borealis of Yukon and Yellowknife. Each destination shows what to do, the best time to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the provinces, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

City on the north shore of Burrard Inlet, opposite downtown Vancouver, at the foot of the Coast Mountains. It has the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Grouse Mountain with its cable car and city views, and Lynn Canyon. Lonsdale Quay, on the waterfront, receives the SeaBus from downtown.

Ontario city facing Niagara Falls. The riverbank is a continuous park, with the Table Rock viewpoint at the edge of Horseshoe Falls, the boats that reach the base of the falls, the tunnels behind it, and the old hydroelectric power station. Downriver are the canyon, rapids, and the Niagara whirlpool.

Laurentians town at the foot of Mount Tremblant that includes the Saint-Jovite center, the old village on the shore of Lake Mercier and the mountain resort, with a pedestrian village and gondola. About 25 km away is Mont-Tremblant National Park, and the P'tit Train du Nord cycling trail crosses the town.

Mountain town in the Coast Mountains at the foot of Whistler and Blackcomb, the largest ski area in North America. The pedestrian village has gondolas, the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre and shops; the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola links the two mountains. Brandywine Falls is about 15 km to the south.

Capital of the province of Quebec, on the shore of the Saint Lawrence River, with a walled historic center recognized by UNESCO. On the heights are Terrasse Dufferin, the Citadelle and the gates of the wall; below are Place Royale and Quartier Petit-Champlain. The Plains of Abraham, the Parliament and the Museum of Civilization round out the visit, and Montmorency Falls and Île d’Orléans are nearby.

Capital of Canada, on the Ottawa River, facing Gatineau. Parliament Hill dominates the centre, beside the lock staircase of the Rideau Canal. Nearby are the ByWard Market, the National Gallery of Canada and the national War and Nature museums. The city is bilingual, in English and French.
