The guide
Cidade Turismo is a travel guide built city by city, now also in Turkey. For each place you'll find things to do, attractions with their own page, when to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the provinces, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Kaş is a base on the Lycian coast, with hillside streets and remains of Antiphellos adjacent to the urban core. The theater helps relate the ancient city to the sea. Kalkan, Patara, Kekova and Demre expand the itinerary in different directions and scales, and should be spread across several days.

Şanlıurfa brings together the Balıklıgöl lagoon, archaeological museums and access to Göbekli Tepe. The old quarter allows walking among religious spaces and commercial streets; the museums help interpret the long human occupation of the region.

Uçhisar is spread around a carved rock that defines the Cappadocia skyline. The core combines hillside houses, viewpoints and paths that lead to the valleys. Climbing the castle lets you understand the layout of the villages and surrounding formations.

Çanakkale lies on the Asian shore of the Dardanelles and serves as a base for Troy and its museum. The Çimenlik castle marks the central waterfront. On the other side of the strait, the Gallipoli peninsula on the European side has memorials and historic fields, which require allowing time for crossings and road travel.

İznik is the ancient Nicaea, a walled town by the lake associated with the Christian councils and Ottoman ceramics. the local Ayasofya marks the center; gates and sections of the walls help explain the historic layout. The walk combines streets, heritage and the town’s relationship with the lake shore.

Avanos developed along the Kızılırmak River and is known for pottery. The urban core has workshops and streets to stroll; nearby, Paşabağ and Zelve show other forms of occupation and erosion of Cappadocia’s rock.
