The Dardanelles divide this destination into two parts: Çanakkale and Troy are in Asian Anatolia, while Eceabat and Gallipoli lie on the European peninsula. The strait connects the Aegean to the Sea of Marmara and shapes both the history and the movements. Crossings and roads need to be part of the planning.

Troy requires observing traces of overlapping occupations and relating them to the Tevfikiye museum. Gallipoli has a different theme and scale: coves, memorials and commemorative spaces scattered across the peninsula. It is more worthwhile to devote a day to each area than to try to reduce them to quick stops.

Assos, beside Behramkale, combines an acropolis and coastline with significant elevation changes. Bozcaada adds an island stage, with a castle, traditional streets and vineyard landscapes. These two sections expand the destination beyond the Çanakkale base and may justify extra nights.

This destination brings together 4 cities: Çanakkale, Eceabat, Assos (Behramkale), Bozcaada.
