The guide
Saint-Pierre, the capital, with its colorful wooden houses around the harbor, the cod fishing museums and the Basque gable; Île aux Marins, an abandoned fishing village facing the harbor; and to the north, Miquelon and Langlade, with the seals of the Grand Barachois lagoon, the sandbar of the isthmus and the cliffs of Cap de Miquelon. Each destination shows what to do, the best time to go and how to get there.
The guide has three ways in, so you can start wherever you like: routes, which link towns along one journey; destinations, which are the tourist regions; and the communes, with the main cities in each one.
The texts are written from official tourism sources, such as national and regional tourism offices, national parks and city halls, and new cities and routes keep being added to the guide.

Where to start
Six cities from the guide, changing every day.

Seat of the French collectivity of Saint‑Pierre and Miquelon, Saint‑Pierre is a town of colorful wooden houses around the harbour. In the centre are the cathedral, the Zazpiak Bat Basque fronton and the museums L'Arche and Héritage; at the harbour entrance are the Pointe aux Canons lighthouse and the huts of Les Salines. Boats go to Île aux Marins, an abandoned fishing village, and a trail reaches Anse à Henry, an archaeological site facing the Grand Colombier.

A village of about 600 inhabitants in the north of Miquelon‑Langlade, between the harbor and Cap de Miquelon. Around the church of Notre‑Dame‑des‑Ardilliers are the Maison de la Nature et de l'Environnement, the Musée de Miquelon and houses of families of Acadian and Basque origin. It is the base for the Grand Barachois lagoon, the isthmus, the Cap de Miquelon trails, the Cap Blanc lighthouse and Langlade.
