The local experience
A waterfall of about 230 meters inside a canyon in Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, roughly 32 km from town. The access trail is long and demanding, with river crossings and stretches of slippery rock.
A cave of dry galleries and chambers with stalactites and stalagmites, about 18 km from town, near the BA-245. It is home to an endemic blind beetle, and access is blocked when the Una River floods, between December and January.
Discover Gruta da Lapa do Bode
An underground lake of clear water where you can see submerged tree trunks on the bottom. Between April and September the sun comes through the cave opening and turns everything blue.
