About Praia de Carapibus

Carapibus is a small, quiet beach on the Costa do Conde, on the south coast of Paraíba, between Jacumã and Tabatinga beaches. It sits at the foot of a slope covered in vegetation, with coconut palms and native forest. It draws people looking for peace and quiet close to João Pessoa.

At low tide, a strip of reefs near the sand forms natural pools, where you can see small fish and crabs. Beyond them, the water is usually clear and warm, good for swimming and for snorkeling.

From above, the Mirante de Carapibus (viewpoint) shows the whole cove and the neighboring coastline, and it is one of the most photographed stops on tours of the Conde beaches. The way down to the sand follows paths on the slope, which takes some effort if you have trouble walking.

The area has many pousadas (guesthouses) and vacation homes, but the beach itself is usually calm. It is a good choice for couples and families who prefer a day without the crowds.
