About Cachoeira Véu de Noiva
Cachoeira Véu de Noiva is the postcard image of the Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Guimarães, in Mato Grosso. Formed by the Rio Coxipó (river), known there as Coxipozinho, it plunges about 86 meters from an amphitheater-shaped sandstone cliff.
You see it from a viewpoint on the edge of the canyon. From the parking lot, the way there is a short, flat trail of about half a kilometer that anyone in normal condition can walk in a few minutes. Visitors with limited mobility may be directed to drive to a point closer to the viewpoint.
From above, the view takes in the falls, the pool below and the valley covered in cerrado and forest. Red-and-green macaws live on the surrounding cliffs and often cross the valley in noisy flocks.
Swimming is not allowed at Véu de Noiva, and you cannot go down to the base of the falls. If you want to cool off, look for other waterfalls in the park or the region. It is a quick outing, good for families and for anyone short on time in Chapada.
