About Praia do Amor
Praia do Amor is just south of the village of Pipa, in Tibau do Sul (RN), surrounded by tall cliffs. The name comes from the shape the rocks and sand make in one corner of the beach: seen from above, the water forms a heart, clearest at high tide.
It is one of Pipa's most popular beaches and has two moods. At high tide the sea is open and the waves are strong, which draws surfers; there are instructors giving lessons on the sand. At low tide natural pools form between the rocks, good for a relaxed swim.
On top of the cliffs, at the far end of the beach, is Chapadão, the viewpoint for the classic heart photo. On the sand there are stalls with beach facilities.
The way down is by a staircase from the end of Rua da Praia do Amor, which takes some stamina on the way back up. At low tide you can also walk there along the sand from Praia do Centro.
