About Lagoa de Arituba
Lagoa de Arituba is a freshwater lagoon on the coast of Nísia Floresta, in Rio Grande do Norte. It lies between Barra de Tabatinga beach and Camurupim beach, a little over a kilometer from each.
The water is clear and shallow near the shore, good if you don't like waves. The edge is soft white sand, and green vegetation surrounds much of the lagoon.
On the most popular shore there are stalls with shaded tables, snacks and hammocks in the water. You can rent pedal boats, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, and there is a zip line that ends in the lagoon. Each activity is paid separately.
It is a relaxed outing, good for families with children. The lagoon is usually part of day trips along Natal's southern coast, along with Camurupim and the Cajueiro de Pirangi (giant cashew tree).
