About Caburé
Caburé is a narrow strip of sand between the Rio Preguiças and the open sea, near the mouth of the river. On one side is the calm river water; on the other, a few meters away, the Atlantic waves.
It's the last and longest stop on the speedboat trip from Barreirinhas. The hamlet is rustic: sandy streets, thatched houses, a few pousadas with chalets and simple restaurants where the groups have lunch.
The plan here is swimming in the river and the sea, lounging in a hammock and eating fish and shrimp. There are ATV rides along the beach to the point where the river meets the sea, a few kilometers ahead.
It's a place to relax, with no physical effort. If you want more peace and quiet, you can stay overnight at one of the pousadas and see Caburé after the boats have left.
