About Terminal Turístico de Balneário Ipiranga

The Terminal Turístico de Balneário Ipiranga is the beach of São Miguel do Iguaçu, in western Paraná. It sits on the shores of Lago de Itaipu, in the Ipiranga district, and draws locals and visitors from Paraguay, especially in summer.

The waterfront has an artificial beach of about 600 meters and a natural pool enclosed by buoys, where swimming is more protected. Small waterfalls next to the swimming area are among the children's favorite attractions.

On the lake you can ride pedal boats and canoes, and the dock serves as a departure point for boat rides and fishing. On land there is a green area with trees for walking, barbecue grills, a snack bar, restrooms, sports courts, a soccer field and a camping area.

In summer, the beach often hosts sports and recreational events on the sand, such as volleyball and handball tournaments and canoeing workshops. It is an easy outing, for families and groups who want to spend the day by the water.

How to get there

It is in the Ipiranga district, about 14 kilometers from downtown São Miguel do Iguaçu, with access via the PR-497 highway. The most practical way is by car; from Foz do Iguaçu, take the BR-277 to São Miguel do Iguaçu and from there to the beach.

Tip

Bring sunscreen, a hat and a chair; on summer weekends, arrive early to get a spot in the shade. Check the camping hours and rules with the town hall before you go.
