About Terminal Turístico Alvorada de Itaipu
The Terminal Turístico Alvorada de Itaipu is the beach of Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, in western Paraná. It sits on the shores of Lago de Itaipu, formed by the dam's reservoir, and is known in the region as Prainha de Santa Terezinha.
The beach is artificial, with fresh water, a strip of sand and a marked swimming area in the lake. Around it there are kiosks, barbecue grills, courts for beach sports, a playground and a viewpoint overlooking the lake.
The terminal also has a camping area, a boat ramp and space for water sports. During the summer season there are lifeguards in the swimming area.
It is a simple, relaxed outing, good for families who want to spend the day in the water without paying for a water park. On hot weekends, the beach fills up.

Best time
In summer, on sunny days, when the season is open and there are lifeguards. Arrive early in the morning, because the waterfront and the parking lot fill up after lunch on weekends.
How to get there
It is about 14 km from downtown Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, on a paved road; there is also a bike path linking the town to the small beach. From Foz do Iguaçu, access is via the BR-277. The best way to get there is by car.
Tip
Bring a chair, a beach umbrella and sunscreen. Camping and kiosks are booked through the app recommended by the town hall; check opening days and hours on the official channels before you go.
