About Parque Ecológico Domingos Zanette
The Parque Ecológico Domingos Zanette is the main urban green area of Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, in western Paraná. It is in the Santa Mônica neighborhood, on the BR-277 frontage road, and is one of the town's landmarks.
The park opened on June 6, 1998, and is named after one of the town's pioneers. Later, the town hall revitalized and expanded the space, with a new pond, a new entrance gate and a longer walking trail.
The highlight is the small ponds formed by the waters of a spring of the Rio Tucano, surrounded by large trees and lawns. There is a trail for walking and running, space for cycling, picnic areas, a playground for children and a small grotto with a statue of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes.
It is a relaxed, low-effort outing, good for families and for anyone who wants to walk in the shade or just sit by the water. Locals use the park a lot for exercise early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
