About Praia de Bombas

Praia de Bombas (beach) is the beach at the entrance to Bombinhas, on the Santa Catarina coast. It has about 2 kilometers of sand and is one of the most built-up on the peninsula, with apartment buildings, pousadas, restaurants and shops facing the sea.

The name is said to come from the sound of the waves booming on the beach. A lit promenade runs along the whole waterfront, with a bike path and walking track, good for walking or cycling early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

It is a popular beach with families spending a few days in town, for its facilities and how easy it is to walk from your lodging to the sand. Along the waterfront and across the Passarela do Ribeiro (footbridge), you can walk to Praia de Bombinhas.
