About Praia da Sepultura
Praia da Sepultura (beach) is a small cove hidden between rocky shores in Bombinhas, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina. It has less than a hundred meters of sand and calm, clear water with almost no waves, which has made it one of the best-known diving spots in town.
The main thing to do here is look underwater. With a mask and snorkel you can already see colorful fish, such as sergeant majors and parrotfish, and sometimes turtles. Snorkel gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are for rent, and operators run scuba dives. On the bottom is an underwater sculpture, part of an underwater gallery project.
You reach it by a short trail of a few minutes from the end of Avenida das Garoupas. On the sand there are bars with tables, but space is limited and, in summer, it fills up fast.
With its calm sea, it is a good beach for kids and for snorkeling beginners. The trail is short but has steps and rocks, which makes access difficult for people with reduced mobility.
