About Reino Encantado
Reino Encantado is a site in the Bom Jardim area, a district of Nobres (MT), home to the main spring of the Rio Salobra (river). The area has more than 600 upwellings, spots where water bubbles up from the riverbed.
The tour starts with a short trail, about 300 meters, through the forest to the spring. From there, the float runs about 1 km downstream, along the stretch with the most upwellings. Guides accompany the group.
While floating you can see fish and the riverbed. The riverside forest is home to pacas, agoutis, monkeys, anteaters, armadillos and many birds. Life vest, mask, snorkel and neoprene boots are provided.
Touching the bottom and using sunscreen are not allowed. The site has a pousada (guesthouse), meals by reservation and a hammock area. Visits require a voucher bought from accredited tour agencies.

How much time to set aside
The trail and float circuit takes about 2 hours.
Best time
In the morning. Avoid the late afternoon, when the water gets colder and there is less light underwater.
How to get there
It is along the MT-241 highway, in the Bom Jardim area, in Nobres. You need to go by car, and visits are booked through accredited tour agencies.
Tip
Book in advance and don't apply sunscreen or insect repellent before getting into the water. While floating, keep your feet off the bottom.
