About Cachoeira do Riachinho
Cachoeira do Riachinho is one of the easiest waterfalls to visit around Vale do Capão, in Palmeiras, in Chapada Diamantina. It is inside Parque Natural Municipal do Riachinho, beside the road that links the town of Palmeiras to the village of Caeté-Açu.
The water falls into a large pool, good for swimming, and you can swim up close to the rock wall and stand under the water. Around it there are also smaller pools to cool off in.
Access is by a short, marked trail that goes down a staircase to the waterfall. You don't need a guide. Because of the steps, the site is not suitable for wheelchairs, but it is easy for families and for people who don't want to tackle long trails.
Many people save Riachinho for the end of the day, after harder outings such as Cachoeira da Fumaça, and stay to watch the sunset in the area.

How to get there

By car, follow this road and stop at the park entrance; from there, a short trail with stairs leads to the falls. Since it is close to the village, it is an easy outing to fit in if you are staying in Capão.
Tip
Bring a swimsuit and a dry change of clothes, and arrive before sunset to enjoy the pool in daylight.
