About Olho d'Água da Urânia

Olho d'Água da Urânia is a spring that forms a lagoon of blue, clear water in the countryside of Nova Redenção, in Chapada Diamantina (BA). It is on the bank of the Paraguaçu River, a few kilometers from Poço Azul, and offers a different experience: here you swim outdoors, in a lagoon surrounded by woods and pasture.

The main attraction is floating. With a mask and snorkel, you can see the bottom covered in aquatic plants and thousands of small fish swimming around you. On the surface, leaves of aquatic plants appear near the banks.

The facilities are basic, without the comforts of the region's better-known attractions. There is an entrance fee, and floating gear is usually available on site. The lagoon is deep, so if you are not a strong swimmer, wear a life vest.

It is a good add-on if you are going to Poço Azul and want another swim in clear water on the same day.
