About Lagoa Termas Parque
Lagoa Termas Parque, also called Lagoa Quente, is a thermal water park in the Lagoa Quente neighborhood, outside downtown Caldas Novas. It sits where the town's history began: around 1777, Martinho Coelho de Siqueira found the hot springs there that gave rise to the name Caldas Novas.
Inside the park is the Lagoa Quente de Pirapitinga, a natural thermal lagoon. Near it is the Poço do Ovo, also called Cozinha Ovos, a spring where the water rises from the ground so hot that it bubbles. It is one of the few places in town where you can see thermal water coming out of the earth naturally.
Around the lagoon, the park has several thermal pools for adults and children, water slides, a wave pool with an artificial beach, a children's area, bars and restaurants. There is lots of greenery, with palm trees and groves between the pools.
Compared with the town's biggest parks, it is smaller and usually calmer. It works well for families with children and for anyone who wants to combine a thermal soak with a bit of history on the same outing.
