Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.
From Saint‑Pierre, ferry to the village harbor in about 90 minutes, or a short flight to Miquelon aerodrome (MQC), next to the village. From May to September, there is a ferry between Fortune, Newfoundland, and Miquelon, with car transport. Confirm schedules before you travel.
How many days
Two days: one for the village, the Maison de la Nature and Cap de Miquelon; another for the Grand Barachois lagoon and Langlade.
When to go
From June to September, with guided walks, lagoon outings and boats to Langlade. July often has heavy fog. In winter, the village can be isolated by windy days and the trails require experience.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
For the village, no: everything is close. For the Grand Barachois lagoon, Cap Blanc and Langlade, yes, or a bicycle. There are car and bicycle rentals in the village, and the guided minibus tours go to Langlade.
