About Ponte Coberta Armindo Lauffer

The Ponte Coberta Armindo Lauffer crosses the Rio Paranhana in the center of Três Coroas, in the Vale do Paranhana, in Serra Gaúcha. It's about 70 meters long and is one of the few covered bridges in Rio Grande do Sul.

This type of bridge comes from the German building tradition brought by the immigrants who settled the region. The bridge has been through floods and storms over the decades and was rebuilt, keeping the roof that makes it a postcard image of the town.

It's still in daily use: cars cross one way, and pedestrians can walk across to enjoy the river and see the structure from inside. At night the bridge gets special lighting, and the walk is lovely after sunset too.

It's close to the Rio Paranhana riverfront and the Museu Armindo Lauffer, so you can combine the visit with a walk around the center. Access is flat and easy.
