About Morro do Diabo

Morro do Diabo is a 665-meter hill in the countryside of Carlos Barbosa, in Serra Gaúcha. It's known as one of the best free-flight ramps in Rio Grande do Sul, popular with paragliding pilots for practice and flights.

The hill has two launch ramps and hosts competitions throughout the year, such as the Festival do Voo Livre (free-flight festival). At these events, pilots take off from the top of Morro do Diabo and land on the São Vendelino side, in the neighboring town.

If you don't fly, the draw is the view. From the top there's a wide panorama of the valley and the hills around it, and on a good wind day you can watch the paragliders take off and gain altitude.

Visits are by appointment. A dirt road leads to the top, where the ramps are.
