About Rampa de Ubá

Rampa de Ubá (launch ramp) is the most famous hang gliding launch site in Espírito Santo. It sits on a hilltop in the community of Córrego de Ubá, in the rural area of Castelo, in the Espírito Santo mountains, and pilots call it the "Hawaii of Paragliding."

The ramp is natural, with a grassy takeoff area at the edge of the slope. It has hosted Brazilian paragliding and hang gliding championships, a Pan American event and several Paragliding World Cup stages, when the valley sky fills with colorful wings.

Even if you do not fly, the spot is worth it as a viewpoint. From the top you see the valley of pastures and fields surrounded by mountains and rocky peaks, with the Vale da Prata and the Cachoeira da Prata in the distance. On good wind days, you can watch the takeoffs up close.

If you want to fly for the first time, you can do a tandem flight with experienced pilots who work at the ramp, booked in advance. You drive up to the top, and the takeoff area is open, with no shade.
