About Praia de Malembá

Malembá is a beach in Senador Georgino Avelino, the smallest municipality in Rio Grande do Norte, on the state's southern coast. It is next to the inlet of Lagoa de Guaraíras, right across from Tibau do Sul, where many visitors come from.

The beach has a long strip of soft sand, framed by dunes. There are no stalls or services: what you find there is wind, dunes and the ferry crossing over the lagoon.

The steady wind and the swells at the inlet make Malembá one of the region's kitesurfing spots. On the dunes, local operators run buggy and ATV rides, and some people slide down the slopes on sandboards or sand sleds.

Many buggy tours from Natal pass through here to cross Lagoa de Guaraíras by ferry on the way to Tibau do Sul and Pipa. Since the sand is soft and there are no facilities, the beach is best for people arriving by buggy or 4x4.
