About EcoParque Guaraíras
EcoParque Guaraíras is a private nature reserve in Vila Surubajá, in Senador Georgino Avelino, on the southern coast of Rio Grande do Norte. It sits on the shore of Laguna Guaraíras, in an area of Atlantic Forest, with views of Tibau do Sul and of the dunes and beach of Malembá across the water.
The main activity is the nature trails, from 1 to 4 km, which pass through the forest and tell stories of the region. Along the way are the ruins of a dam and Mirante de Santo Antônio (viewpoint), tied to the memory of the great flood of 1929.
The park also has a birdwatching area, swimming in the lagoon depending on the tide, boat trips and horseback riding. The wild birds are one of the highlights, and the place runs environmental education activities.
There is a camping area with facilities for tents and motorhomes. The trails call for some stamina on natural terrain; if you are not very fit, choose the shortest route.
