About Praia Grossa
Praia Grossa (beach) is a wild beach at the far north of Itapema, surrounded by Atlantic Forest and rocky shores. There are no houses or shops on the sand, and the place keeps its natural look.
You get there on a short trail that starts at the end of the streets of Canto da Praia and crosses the forest. The walk takes about 15 to 20 minutes and is easy, but it includes dirt stretches and gentle climbs.
The beach is wide and the sea is usually rough, with waves that attract surfers. Next to it is Praia da Ilhota, separated by rock formations. Behind the sand there is a large green area.
It is a good choice if you are looking for peace and nature. Since there are no facilities, people with limited mobility will find the trail challenging, and families with small children should be careful in the sea.
