About Miquelon Museum
The Musée de Miquelon is on Rue Sourdeval, in the center of the village, and is run by the association Miquelon Culture Patrimoine. The collection brings together objects that show how people lived in Miquelon in the first half of the 20th century and recall the Acadian origins of many residents, with their customs and trades.
The exhibition is organized around six themes of daily life, including the family home, the fish salting station, the workshop, the shed and the remains of shipwrecks. The museum also reconstructs Dr. Louis Thomas’s photographic developing laboratory and displays part of his photograph collection.
It’s a short visit that complements the Notre-Dame-des-Ardilliers church and the Maison de la Nature, a few steps away.
