About Maison de la Nature et de l'Environnement

La Maison de la Nature et de l'Environnement is on Place des Ardilliers, in the center of the village of Miquelon, in a large building of natural wood. It has about 200 m² of permanent exhibits about the archipelago’s environments: the sea, the peatlands, the boreal forest and the dunes, each with its own sounds, sensory niches, hands-on modules, touch-sensitive screens and even scents, such as cranberry.

There is a film of about 20 minutes with English subtitles, a relief model and a continuous presentation about the islands. The panels are mainly in French, with the main information in English.

The center is also the base for Miquelon’s guided walks: the isthmus, the Grand Barachois, the Cormorandière, the Cap and Nid à l'Aigle, as well as village history walks and a microbus circuit to Langlade and Mirande. It’s worth starting your visit to Miquelon here to understand what you will see on the trails.
