When to go

From June to September, with good sailing weather, days of 22 °C to 28 °C and a busy harbor; activity is highest in July and August. The mansions are open year-round, and in December some are decorated for Christmas. In winter it’s windy and cold on the coast.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Not essential: the downtown and Bellevue Avenue can be explored on foot or by local bus. For Ocean Drive and Fort Adams, car or bicycle. Parking downtown is expensive in summer. You drive on the right.
