Little Rock – Arkansas Destination Hot Springs and Little Rock Capital

How to get there

  • Clinton National Airport (LIT) 6 km

Approximate distances. Check flights and bus, train or boat schedules before you travel.

LIT airport is about 6 km east of downtown, served by taxis, ride‑hailing apps, and rental cars. Interstates I‑30 and I‑40 intersect in the city; Memphis is about a two‑and‑a‑half hour drive, and Dallas about five hours.

How many days

One day for Central High School, the Clinton Center, and the River Market. With two days, you can add the old state capitol, the Big Dam Bridge, and a walk along the river trail.

When to go

Spring and autumn are best for riverside walks. In summer, the humid heat calls for outings early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

In downtown and the River Market, no: the Clinton Center and the old capitol are within walking distance, and a streetcar connects downtown to North Little Rock. For Central High and the Big Dam Bridge, use a car, taxi, or ride‑hail. Drive on the right.
