How many days

One day is enough for the village, the museum and a beach. As a base, Hyannis works for three or four days of exploring the peninsula and the islands.

When to go

From June to September, with the sea on the south side generally between 18 °C and 22 °C and ferries running more frequently. September tends to be quieter. In winter the village operates, but some seasonal businesses close.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Helpful, because the beaches and other villages are spread out. Without a car there are local buses; the ferry terminal is within walking distance of the center and you can rent a bicycle. Drive on the right.
