The city

What to expect from Beacon.

Old factory town on the east bank of the Hudson, at the foot of Mount Beacon, that became a center for contemporary art. Beside the station and the river is the Dia Beacon museum, housed in a cookie-box factory, and Main Street has galleries, cafés and shops. A trail climbs Mount Beacon with valley views, and on the other side of the river is the Storm King Art Center, a park of large outdoor sculptures.
