About Kentucky Horse Park
The Kentucky Horse Park is a park of about 490 hectares north of Lexington, entirely devoted to the horse. It functions as a working farm, museum and competition center, and hosts international equestrian events throughout the year.
The International Museum of the Horse traces the relationship between people and horses since antiquity, with collections on racing, cavalry, transport and sport. On the same grounds is the American Saddlebred Museum, dedicated to a breed developed in Kentucky.
In the busiest season, the Hall of Champions presents retired champion racehorses living on-site, and the Breeds Barn displays breeds from around the world with demonstrations. There are horseback and pony rides and a tram tour of the farm. In winter, programming is scaled back.
At the entrance, the statue of Man o' War and the champions’ memorial recall the most famous names from American racing.
