About William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum
The Clinton Presidential Center opened in 2004 on the banks of the Arkansas River, east of downtown Little Rock. It houses the library and museum of the 42nd President of the United States, born in Arkansas and who served as the state’s governor before becoming President.
The main building is a long glass‑and‑steel box cantilevered over the park, aligned with an old railroad bridge that is now a pedestrian walkway over the river. Exhibits cover the years of the administration with documents, photos, gifts from heads of state, and a timeline.
The most visited pieces are the full‑size replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room as they were in those years. The presidential archives, managed by the federal government, are located in the same complex.
The surrounding park has gardens, a riverside path, and the pedestrian bridge that leads to North Little Rock.
