How many days

One day, leaving from Honolulu, covers Haleiwa, Waimea Bay and the Pipeline. With two days in the region, you can include the Polynesian Cultural Center and more beach time.

When to go

In winter, from November to March, big waves and surf competitions arrive; from May to September the sea is usually calm for swimming and snorkeling. The weather is warm year-round.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

It’s the most practical way to get around the coast and stop at beaches. Urban buses run along the coastal road, but less frequently. Drive on the right.
