The city

What to expect from Pella.

City founded in 1847 by about 800 Dutch immigrants, about 65 km from Des Moines. The downtown has Dutch-style facades, the Molengracht canal, the Klokkenspel clock with figures, and the Vermeer Windmill at Pella Historical Village. In May, the Tulip Time festival fills the streets with flowers, parades and clogs dancing. Beside town is Red Rock Lake.
