About Verdmont Historic House Museum
Verdmont is a house built around 1710 on a hill in the parish of Smith's, near Spittal Pond. It has survived the centuries with few structural changes, making it a good example of a Bermudian house from that period.
Today it is a museum of the Bermuda National Trust. The rooms display furniture made from Bermuda cedar, china, portraits and household items that tell the story of the families who lived there over more than two centuries.
From the surrounding garden you can see Smith's slope descending to the sea. Visits are guided or accompanied, and opening days vary throughout the year.
