About Shelly Bay
Shelly Bay sits on the north shore of Hamilton parish, along North Shore Road, between Flatts and Bailey’s Bay. It is one of the largest beaches on Bermuda’s north coast.
The water is shallow for a long distance from the sand and, on days without a north wind, remains calm, which makes it a favorite beach for families with small children. Behind the sand there is a shaded lawn and a playground.
Because it faces north, Shelly Bay is usually calmer when the wind blows from the south—precisely the days when the South Shore beaches are choppier. Being close to Flatts and the caves, it pairs well with a day of sightseeing in the island’s east.
