From the town of Hamilton, the pink-line ferry crosses the harbour to the Lower Ferry, Hodson's and Salt Kettle piers. Buses on South Road and Middle Road pass the Botanical Gardens and near Elbow Beach.

Half a day for the Botanical Gardens and Masterworks; a full day including Elbow Beach and Paget Marsh. Many visitors stay in Paget and go to Hamilton by ferry.
When to go
May to October for Elbow Beach, with the water warmer from June to October. The Botanical Gardens can be visited year-round; there are more flowers in spring.

Do you need a car?
No. The ferry connects the harbour shore to the town of Hamilton, and South Road buses reach the Botanical Gardens and the south coast.
