How many days

Two days for beach, boardwalk, the aquarium and First Landing; one more day for boat trips and dolphin‑watching tours.

When to go

June through September is best for the beach, when the water is warmer; May and September tend to be less crowded. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November. Dolphins often appear near the coast in summer; from December through March there are whale‑watching trips.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Helpful tip: the central oceanfront is walkable or bikeable, but First Landing and the aquarium are a few kilometers away. In summer a trolley runs along the boardwalk.
