When to go
From April to October, when the gardens are open and in bloom. Nemours is open from April through early November and returns for the Christmas season; in winter several properties reduce their hours.

Do you need a car?
For the du Pont properties, yes: they are 5 to 10 km from downtown, on wooded roads. The downtown and the Riverfront are walkable. If you drive, keep to the right.
