About Six Flags St. Louis
The Eureka amusement park opened in 1971 as Six Flags Over Mid-America and operated for decades as Six Flags St. Louis. In 2026 the park changed ownership and was renamed Mid America Adventure; the neighboring water park is also expected to receive a new name.
The park has themed areas inspired by the region’s history, with wooden and steel roller coasters, including the Screamin' Eagle (1976), one of the oldest wooden coasters still operating in the country, plus rides for small children and summer shows. The adjacent water park has a wave pool, lazy river, and water slides.
The park operates from spring through fall, with days and hours that vary throughout the season; in autumn there is Halloween programming.
